#TiPortoAlMuseo: The Historical Museum of the Firefighters and the Italian Red Cross of Manfredonia

The Historical Museum of Firefighters and the Italian Red Cross of Manfredonia is the only museum in the world created and managed by a private individual dedicated to this sector. Inaugurated in 2017, it extends over a surface area of 2,500 square meters within which are exhibited over 3,000 original finds collected through an exciting research lasting over 50 years by Michele Guerra.

Not just a simple museum, but also a 360-degree cultural production center , where visitors through the technological, historical and traditional evolution, together with the virtual reality present in the museum, accompanied by a highly expert guide, are taken on a journey back in time to understand the contexts in which our two rescue corps operated.

The museum route extends over 400 linear meters within which approximately 500 lights are lit. Some vehicles present in the museum, in the past and recently, have been rented to film some important films and fiction ( A Farewell to Arms, Stardust, Inspector Ricciardi ).

Inside the museum, there are two play areas to give ample space to children who combine culture with healthy fun and can interact with accompanying parents and teachers. The only museum of its kind in the world to have augmented reality consisting of 3 exhibitions , one of which where visitors call the firefighters who will save people trapped in a burning building from the late 1800s, as well as 30 tablets and 15 monitors and various reconstructions of the calamitous events that saw the intervention of our heroes who have characterized our existence.

The Historical Museum of the Firefighters and the Italian Red Cross of Manfredonia is therefore a place where you can retrace the history of rescue ; a perfect space for children, but which manages to fascinate even the older ones.
